In summer, walkers can ramble to their heart’s content in the valley of Goms with a choice of more than 700 km of well-marked trails ranging from mountain and glacier hikes to gentle strolls in the valley. The 26-kilometre long nature biking trail, a number of mountain-bike tracks or a scooter run on idyllic forest paths allow you to discover the area on two wheels. River-rafting on the Rhône, mule or llama trekking or hang-gliding provide plenty of adventure. Guests of all ages enjoy a trip on the old steam-train on the Furka mountain or a trip to the Eggishorn to see the spectacular Aletsch glacier – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Golfers can show their skills on the unique 9-hole golf course.
In winter, the valley of Goms has a lot to offer downhill and cross-country skiers and snowboarders. Magnificent downhill runs such as Bellwald and Fiesch-Fiescheralp-Aletsch plus many lower-lying slopes suitable for families make for plenty of variety. For cross-country skiers, there are more than 100 km of trails of varying difficulty. If skiing is not your sport, you can explore the glittering winter landscape on foot on prepared walking trails or have fun on sledge runs or in outdoor skating rinks.
