Steppenblüte Grimmialp – Flowers in the Dessert
The guesthouse with a difference. Visit us and begin to flourish – in the beautiful countryside of Switzerland
The ‘Steppenblüte’ community is a sisterhood affiliated to the reformed church in Switzerland. The name means ‘flowers in the dessert’ and is inspired by the text in Isaiah 35. Since1993 the sisters have taken on the property and are running it as a family friendly guesthouse on the Grimmialp in the Swiss Mountains.
The guesthouse has 65 beds in 26 spacious single, double and family rooms with en suite facilities. Additionally there are spacious common rooms and a dining room.
The house welcomes groups, church groups, families, single guests and hikers. There is also a number of themed days and weeks; details of these can be taken from the annual programme.
‘The big swing’ is an exciting playground and sports-field for adults and young people alike.
Location: the guesthouse is located in a quiet and remote area of the Swiss Diemtigtal, right up in the Swiss Alps. Easy access to hiking trails, mountain bike areas and ski resorts, offering various ski lifts, ski courses and cross country trails. Last but not least the area offers the ‘Grimmimutz’ adventure trail.
Meals are taken jointly at set times in our dining room. Please note that there is no restaurant and no a la carte service. Please inform us in advance of any special dietary requirements.
