The mountain-flower trail from the Gerschnialp to the Trüb lake is a unique, informative experience for nature-lovers. Discover the wonderful mountain flora at the foot of the Titlis, amid a fascinating mountain panorama. The information boards on the trail towards the Trüb lake tell you all about the plant-life of this mountainous region.
If you prefer a whole-day hike, then the 4-lake hike from Engelberg to Melchsee-Frutt is just right for you. The walk takes you past four crystal-clear mountain lakes and an abundance of distinctive flora. To get back to Engelberg you have a cableway, post-coach and train via
Stöckalp, Kerns and Stans.
You will find an extensive network of hiking paths on the Brunni too – the sunny side of Engelberg. One walk to be recommended is the Brunni trail, which is also very suitable for families with children. On the "Brunni-Pfad" twelve large information boards explain nature and the life of man and beast in the mountains.
Hikers interested in botany will find over 100 types of plants, labelled and described, along the Panorama Circuit. There is also something for biking enthusiasts too in Engelberg. A network of 345 kilometres of track is every biker’s dream! The cableways take you and your bike up any mountain, so that once you are at the top, you still have enough energy to enjoy every moment of the descent.
But even in Winter, Engelberg-Titlis has lots to offer its guests. With its 82 km pistes, Engelberg is the biggest ski area in Central Switzerland. A wide choice of fine ski and snowboard runs and crosscountry courses for any level stretches across the valleys of the Titlis mountains. But Engelberg-Titlis is not only for skiers and snowboarders. Hiking, snowshoeing, Nordic walking, touring and cross-country skiing are some of the other popular activities in this beautiful and pristine environment.
