In winter, thirteen T-bars, chair lifts and gondolas in Hoch-Ybrig, Oberiberg and Unteriberg are at your disposal to take you up to a mountain paradise: meet friends for a cosy fondue evening organized weekly by the Ybrig Ski School. Afterwards, toboggan or ski down to the village on slopes lit by flaring torches. 24 miles of beautifully kept slopes, stretching through forests and along the banks of frozen rivers, will provide a challenging and satisfying experience for all levels of cross-country skier.
In the summer, the Ybrig region offers over 100 miles of walking and hiking trails over gentle and majestic mountains. As you walk through forests and across meadows, take in the fragrance of our clean alpine air and enjoy the variety of flora and fauna en route. There are many mountain cabins along the way where you can refresh yourself or just relax and enjoy the breathtaking views. In some of the alpine huts, you may even see a dairy farmer making his own famous Swiss cheese. In the autumn, when the towns below are covered in fog, the Ybrig region glows with clear skies and sunshine.
The Sihl lake, a nearby reservoir surrounded by beautiful countryside, offers many water-sports facilities. You could even try your hand at fishing and maybe catch a pike, perch or trout! A one-day fishing permit is easy to obtain. The area offers a variety of hotels, guest houses, holiday flats, bed & breakfast and hostels in all price ranges, and there are numerous sporting activities: an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, swimming and other water sports, as well as mountain biking and horse-riding.
